Duro-Aina Adebola (14), Akindele Abiola (14), Faleke Oluwatoyin (14) and Bello Eniola (15) submitted their project in the Maker Faire Africa competition hosted in Lagos this year. Scientists have been looking to waste as a form of energy production for a while now, and while experts point out the generator isn’t market ready, we want to shine some light on the bright, young minds looking for solutions to the electricity crisis in Africa.

#MTNUltimateWonder
Lottery Winner Fights off Marriage Proposals: Gladys Ebube Essien-Garricks, 27, was recently selected as the winner of the MTN Ultimate Wonder Promo in Lagos state and continues to adjust to life in the limelight. The promotional award was a Cessna 182T Airplane (yes. a plane!), but she opted for the N64 million cash prize (N = Naira, the Nigerian currency). She says marriage proposals from complete strangers abound, and people have even started Facebook pages posing as her! Lotteries sponsored by telecom companies were a Nigerian staple, but the government recently banned such activities. Luck was on Gladys’ side, as this particular lottery ended before the ban took effect.
