Social Media Strategist,
Chioma Agwuegbo is a communications and social media strategist with experience spanning radio and radio drama production for the BBC Media Action in Nigeria, and Aso Radio and Television Services.
Chioma, with a first degree in Communications and a Master’s Degree in social media, leads a team at CC Consulting Services Limited that has provided solutions to organizations including MTV Staying Alive Foundation (Shuga), the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Centre for Communication Programmes Nigeria (CCPN), Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), amongst others. Her interests span technology, women, political processes and participation amongst youth across the continent.
Chioma founded TechHer in August 2015, a community of learning, support, and collaboration for women working with technology either as the core of their functions or as an enabler. TechHer seeks to demystify technology, providing a platform for information sharing amongst women on basic day to day challenges with the aim of aiding empowerment and independence.
As a speaker, Chioma has graced podiums from The Hague to The House of Lords, Social Media Week (Lagos, London, and Hamburg). She also contributes to local and international media including Huffington Post, Foresight for Development, Future Challenges, Deutsche Welle, YNaija, etc.
She is the Deputy Curator of the Abuja Global Shapers Hub, an associate member of Nigeria Leadership Initiative, a Commonwealth Associate Fellow, and a member of the British Red Cross.
