Voices for Change Programme
Omowumi Asubiaro Dada is a lawyer with a master’s degree in Law from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. She has 15 years’ experience working as a human rights activists with particular expertise in women and gender issues. Currently, she works with the Voices for Change Programme as the Lead on ‘Inclusion of Girls & Women & their issues in Political & Governance Processes’. Prior to 2012, she worked as the resident gender expert implementing the Gender & Affirmative Action Project for Women’s Rights Advancement and Protection Alternative (WRAPA). This project gave rise to an increase in the number of women participating in politics in Nigeria especially at the federal and state levels.
Wumi has consistently supported and provided assistance to government institutions such as the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Federal Ministry of Youth Development, the National Human Rights Commission, the National Youth Service Corps and others in developing position papers, policy briefs, conference resource papers and facilitate events held by the Ministry.
