Yomi Omogbeja is the CEO of YSMedia Ltd and the founder of Athletics Africa Foundation – a non-profit organisation devoted to the development and support of young African athletes through education and training. He is also the publisher of the award-winning Africa’s premier athletics news website – AthleticsAfrica.com.
He was the pioneer Planning and Online editor for 234NEXT.com at inception in 2008, and the winner (Individual) of the Telkom/SABC Highway Africa new media award for journalism innovation in 2011. A graduate of the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, where he received an MA in Web Journalism in 2004, Yomi was a Finalist in the 2004 Press Gazette UK student online journalist of the year award.
A recipient of the British FCO/Chevening postgraduate award in 2003, Yomi was the West African Correspondent for Oil and Gas International Inc. between 1998 – 2002, and has worked at various times at Chevron Nigeria Ltd, Tempo Magazines, Punch newspapers, National Interest Newspapers, Africa Oil + Gas report, The BBC and the Daily Telegraph in London.
