You have your passport, luggage and plane tickets and you’re ready to jet set to Lagos. Don’t forget to pack these essential items before you board the plane.
1. International Charger
The one pictured above is used in Nigeria. You can always ask your hotel if they have extra ones if you can’t get one in time. But they may run out if everyone else is asking as well. Travel prepared and bring your own.
2. Squeezable Tubes
Opening your suitcase to find your blazer splattered with shampoo is no fun. Bring these to prevent bottles from breaking in your luggage.
3. Meds
Getting sick on the road is always a downer. But you can prep by bringing pain killers along and over-the-counter meds that help with an upset stomach.
4. External charger
Don’t get caught powerless mid-tweet. Your external charger will re-up your phone/tablet battery when it dies.
5. Sunglasses
Keep those sun rays out of your eyes and look cool while doing it. When you finally have time to leave the conference, go out and get some sun!
The theme for Social Media Week Lagos 2015 is Upwardly Mobile: The Rise of a Connected Africa. If you have any questions about traveling to the conference, please contact yours truly at roxanne.scott@gmail.com. I hope to see you in Lagos.
