#MTNUltimateWonder
Lottery Winner Fights off Marriage Proposals: Gladys Ebube Essien-Garricks, 27, was recently selected as the winner of the MTN Ultimate Wonder Promo in Lagos state and continues to adjust to life in the limelight. The promotional award was a Cessna 182T Airplane (yes. a plane!), but she opted for the N64 million cash prize (N = Naira, the Nigerian currency). She says marriage proposals from complete strangers abound, and people have even started Facebook pages posing as her! Lotteries sponsored by telecom companies were a Nigerian staple, but the government recently banned such activities. Luck was on Gladys’ side, as this particular lottery ended before the ban took effect.
